Sharon Beer-Korver is an Author, Mother, Director and believes that health, fitness,
femininity, independence and success all help us to be vital and energetic women. During her life Sharon has always
believed in looking after and respecting both body and mind. Born as a chronic asthmatic Sharon soon learnt that health
is an important way of life and commenced swimming at 5 years old eventually working up to swimming at the Shell Olympic Stadium
in Melbourne and competing with the likes of Tracy Wickam. Swimming 3 miles a day in training was challenging but rewarding
with the many accolades Sharon achieved in this sport, at 13 a decision was made and Sharon left swimming with no asthma in
sight, fully recovered with a large lung capacity and a love of sport.
It was several years later and after many years of going
to her local gym that Sharon's lifelong plan came unstuck. Yes, a car accident occurred and Sharon was in pain 24
hours a day with an injury from hitting her knee on a glove box in the car and a lady going through a stop sign, during this
time I never stopped going to the gym it helped to keep me sain. This was challenging experience for Sharon and after
12 months found the right remedy finally a physiotherapist who her first words were you have to give up going to the gym for
at least 6 months whilst I treat you. This was very hard for Sharon but we persevered and after six months were seeing
results and it was at this time I started to walk around our local lake and get back into some sit ups. Finally the
pain dissipated and I started back at the gym after being away for 12 months and to my relief it helped me to heal not only
physically but mentally as well and I again returned to a balanced, happy being but it tested my resilience and made me realise
how important well being is in our day to day lives.
In 1995 Sharon became a full time mother during this time she renovated two homes and produced her
first book and video workouts called "How to Look Dynamic and have 2 Children", these were sold on line. Despite
the demands of family Sharon still remained the balance of her life in terms of body, mind, family and career.
"What a nice
way to finish off some early morning Uni work, by reading one of your email newsletters. I loved how your newsletters
starts this week - it hit a definite note a I have been saying I want to get gumboots for Benj so we can all go glumping around
the lake down the road now it is a bit wetter and muddier." Trish T, Perth"
